Angeline was the daughter of Asahel Bruer and granddaughter of John Bruer. Angeline's father Asahel Bruer was one of the early pioneers of Illinois. He owned the first hotel in Urbana, Illinois at which Abraham Lincoln stopped on his visits to the circuit court.

On July 7, 1831, at the age of 15, she married Charles W. Davis. Charles and Angeline were the parents of sixteen children. Ten of these children never grew to adulthood. They (or I should say, most of them) are buried at the Dinsmore (sometimes called Trowbridge) cemetery which is located at the intersection of Indiana Highways 63 and 36 near Hillsdale, Indiana in Vermillion County, Helt Township. There is no stone for Charles, but there is a burial place next to his widow; some of the children have no stones, but there are places of burial in the family plot. This is a very old cemetery and for years was not too well maintained and the stones could be covered with soil. The cemetery is now well maintained and can be seen from the intersection. Many of the descendants of this family still live in the Helt Township, Vermillion County area.
