Born January 5, 1914, in Thomaston, Connecticut, he was the son of Jennie Yankywicz Kobryn and Harry Kobryn, was educated in Connecticut schools and served with the U.S. Army from 1933 to 1935. On August 3,1968 he married Jeanne Irene Kobryn and where members of Sacred Heart Parish. He was employed at General Motors in Bristol, Connecticut for over 30 years. After his retirement in 1972, he moved to Lewiston. He was a member of United Auto Workers Union in Connecticut. He was the 1975 state champion in the Maine Horse-shoe Pitching Class H Division.
He is survived by his wife of Auburn, Jeanne Irene Boulais, three daughters, Mrs. James (Winifred) Acker of Plymouth, Connecticut, Mrs. Joseph (Karen) Maloney and Kathy Kobryn, both of Thomaston, Connecticut, three sons, William J. Kobryn or Raynham, Mass, Keith A. Kobryn and Chris W. Kobryn, both of Thomaston, Connecticut, four step daughters, Mrs. Ronnie (Debra) Stenholm of Hartford, Connecticut, Mrs. Michael (Carol) Tremblay of South Windsor, Connecticut, Susan Marie Hudson of Alabama and Laurie of Maine, one sister, Mary Hoffman of Miami, Florida, eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren and seven step grandchildren.
