He was the son of Alva and Dorothy (Mills) Journay. On Sep 25, 1948, he married Waneta Wright, who survives.
Also surviving are four daughters: Barbara (Carl) Willeford and Patricia (William) Parks, both Union City, Sandra (Phillip) Hiestand, New Weston, and Roberta Asbury, Kannapolis, NC; a sister, Margaret Yount, Greenville; a son-in-law, Ron Weis, St. Marys; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Shelby and six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter, Carolyn Weis; a brother, Paul; a sister, Garet Tomlinson; and a son-in-law, Dale Asbury Sr.
He retired from the former Avco New Idea and farming. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #539 F&AM, Ft. Recovery, Order of Eastern Star, Royal Arch Masons, Greenville, Knights Templar Sidney Commandery #46, Sidney, and Pleasant Hill Church, Union City, IN.
Services are at Brockman - Boeckman Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bruce Bryan officiating.
