Verttie B. Council Mrs. Council passed from this life to her home in Heaven on her 85th birthday, March 11, 2012. Born in Sampson County, NC, Verttie was a daughter of the late Sidney Allen Beasley and Flossie Ethel McKeel Beasley. She retired from Qualex of Charlotte and is remembered for her love for her grandchildren and especially for her love of the Lord, as well as her faithful attendance and support of her church, Hope Community Church. Mrs. Council is survived by two sons, Bruce Council and his wife Angela of Newton, and David Council of Charlotte; two grandchildren Arron and Robin Council; two sisters, Myrtle Mitchell and Wilma Vale, both of Clinton; and her brother, O'Neil Beasley of Virginia. Her husband, Auba Conway Council, preceded her in death. A service to celebrate Mrs. Council's life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 14th, at Hope Community Church, 3205 Sam Wilson Road, with her pastor, Rev. Todd Marlow officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Tuesday, March 13th, at Forest Lawn West Funeral Home.
