He was listed on casualty list as wounded in line of duty on July 21, 1861 at Bull Run, Virginia. He was mustered out on September 24, 1861 as disability. His place of residence was listed as Mineral Point, Wisconsin. He is included on the Roster of Wisconsin Volunteers: War of the Rebellion. Thank God he survived this war.
