DEATH FOLLOWS LONG ILLNESS
MRS. MARTHA STEGALL DOUGHERTY PASSES AWAY AT HOME 611 WEST SECOND ST.
Mrs. Martha Stegall Dougherty who has been a resident of this city since the first of April, passed away at her home, 611 West Second street Friday evening about 9:50 oclock. Her death was caused by complications of diseases. Mrs. Dougherty had been seriously ill during the past four weeks. She had been in poor health for over two years.
Martha Stegall was born at Lorance, Neb. September 3, 1884. She was united in marriage to J. F. Dougherty, September 16, 1903 at Canton. To this union was born three children: Mary, thirteen years, Kenneth, nine years, and Leo, deceased.
Mr. and Mrs. Dougherty lived in this city a little over a year ago. Later they moved to Smithshire, where Mr. Dougherty was employed as foreman of the section gang of the Santa Fe. They came back to this city the first of April. At the present time Mr. Dougherty is foreman of the construction work in the Santa Fe yards.
Mrs. Dougherty was a patient sufferer. She was a kind mother and was dearly loved by all who knew her. She was a member of St. Patricks church, having been taken in recently by Father Baines.
She is survived by her husband and two children, Mary and Kenneth. She also leaves her father, Fremont Stegall of this city, and four sisters and three brothers: Mrs. Bess Parker of Abingdon, Mrs. Elizabeth McWilliams of Avon, Mrs. Cora Morris of Chariton, Iowa, and Mrs. Laura Buck of Earliham, Iowa, and Milt Stegall of Abingdon, Sol and Charles of Delong.
