Burial registered December 3, 1956, Vol. C, P. 647.

Her first name was spelled both Frances and Francis on different documents. Her maiden name has been spelled in obituaries, etc., as McCormick, McCormack and MacCormick.

1st wife of Edward J. Dugan.
2nd wife of Walter H. Singley.

Daughter of Dennis McCormick [McCormack] and Honorè Day.

Born Red Star, VIRGINIA on death certificate.

Found a Redstar, West Virginia in Fayette County, 2.5 miles south of Oak Hill. It is a unincorporated community, a company owned mining town in the 1890's. Could not find any Red Star in Virginia.

The following names were found written on a piece of paper in the Bible. Very little research to date to find these ancestors. It is a work in progress. [Note: McCormick has also been spelled MacCormick, MacCormack and McCormack.]

1920 - Philadelphia Census, Frances Dugan with husband Edward Dugan, two daughters, Nora 2, Mary 8 months. Frances states she is born in WV, father born VA, mother b. KY.

1942 - She is listed as Walter H. Singley's wife on his Draft Card, they were living in Philadelpha and he worked for Supplee Milk Company.

1950 - About this time she moved to Corry, PA with 2nd husband Walter Singley to be close to her daughter Honorè [Dugan] Wilcox and her grandchildren.

1956 - Walter Singley dies.

1958 - Moved to Erie, Pennsylvania and lived with daughter and family.

1965 - November 12, 13, --- Erie Times

"FRANCES SINGLEY - Mrs Frances M. Singley, sixty-six of ... Erie ... died Friday after an extended illness.

Mrs. Singley was born March 1, 1899, in Red Star Virginia, daughter of the late Dennis and Honorè Day MacCormack. Her husband Walter H. Singley, preceded her in death.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Robert [Honorè] Wilcox of Erie; Mrs. George W. Dauth [Ronnie] of Miami, Florida., four grandchildren and one great grandson.

Friends are invited to call at the Burton West Lake Funeral Home, 3816 W. Lake Rd., Sunday fomr 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., and attend prayer services there at 10:30 a.m. Requiem Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. in St. Julia's Church."
