He,being of the "earthy" people he was in trouble several times for cursing etc. He married the widow Joanna (Downam) Pray and with the three youngest children moved to York, York Co.,ME. to start a new life with his new family.
He was killed by the Indians while under attack on 20 Aug 1694, near Maxwell garrison where he lived. After that the family moved to Kittery where they settled.
