Kills 3 Persons
SUMMERSVILLE - Three persons were killed here late Saturday and a fourth was injured when the car they were in went out of control, ran off U.S. 19 and smashed into a locust tree.
Dead at the scene were Carolyn Marie Cunningham, 21, of Duck, Braxton County, James Stephen Mullins, 15 and Debra M. Powell, 18, both of Gassaway.
MISS POWELL was a senior at Braxton County High School where she was a majorette and a member of the band.
Surviving: mother, Mrs. Melba Powell of Sutton; father, Rupert Powell, address unlisted; brothers, Rupert Jr., with the Air Force in Germany, (one brother still living) and John with the Navy in Philadelphia, Pa.; grandmother. Mrs. Dolly Powell of Glenville.
