The Daily American (Somerset, Pa), Tuesday, November 1, 1955:

Harvey Luther Saylor, 80, of Johnstown, died Sunday in Memorial Hospital. He was born in Conemaugh Township, Somerset County, Oct. 23, 1875, a son of John S. and Catherine Trexel Saylor, and is survived by a daughter, Mrs. H. Ray Murray, Johnstown; also two grandchildren, Dennis and Susan, and these brothers and sisters: Miss Edna Saylor and Mrs. David Baumer, Johnstown; Garfield A., San Gabriel, Calif., Dr. J. C. Saylor, Johnstown. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Margaret Florence Lewis, Oct. 17, 1945, and two brothers: Robert R., 1904, and Attorney T. K. Saylor, Sr., 1938. Mr. Saylor was a retired blacksmith for Hiram Swank Sons, and a life member of St. John’s Evangelical and Reformed Church. The family will receive friends today Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the H. M. Picking Sons mortuary, Johnstown, where services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. George T. Fitz officiating. Interment, in Grandview Cemetery.
