Alma King passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Luther Manor Nursing Home. Age 102 years. She was born November 18, 1910 in Alexandria, Louisiana to Perry and Ellen Alexander.

Alma married Julius King Sr. on July 21, 1936. He predeceased her. A school teacher by profession, she taught in the Louisiana school system for many years before relocating to Saginaw, Michigan. She moved to Saginaw, Michigan in May 1964 and joined the Divine Science Church. She was a very active member of the church and taught a youth meditation class. Alma was an avid reader and a crosswords puzzle fan. She enjoyed cooking, traveling and spending time with her family. Her grandchildren were the apple of her eye and she always remembered their birthdays with a small gift.

She leaves to cherish her memory four daughters and six sons, Joseph Perry (Helen) King, Issac King, Alma June (James) Cooper, McKenzie Roy (Everly) King, Fred Douglas King, Mary Ellen King, Annease King, James Calvin King, Irma Jean King, Robert Earl (Pasong) King; eighteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.

Alma was preceded in death by her husband, Julius King Sr., one son, Julius King Jr., parents, Perry and Ellen Alexander, one sister, Augusta Raymond.
