Susie Clark Demery Locklear, 57, of Maxton, passed away on June 5, 2011.

The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Gospel of Grace Baptist Church in Maxton, officiated by the Revs. Buck Bowen and Al Hensley. Entombment will follow the service at Lumbee Memorial Gardens.

Susie was born Sept. 28, 1953. She was the daughter of the late Jessie and Mary Brooks Clark. She was a devoted homemaker and a dedicated employee of Nelson and Nelson Recycling. She served as a faithful member of the Gospel of Grace Baptist Church. Susie enjoyed reading her Bible and loved spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a precious and loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Marcus Demery.

Susie is survived by her loving husband of 16 years, Nelson Locklear Sr. of their home in Maxton; daughters, Sabrina Clark and husband Brentley, Fedria Locklear and husband Nelson Locklear Jr., and Juanita Locklear, all of Maxton, Danielle Locklear and Larhonda Locklear, both of Red Springs; sons, Dewayne Locklear and wife Alisha, both of Pembroke, Gary Locklear of Maxton; brothers, Jessie Clark of Pembroke, Glenn Clark of Mt. Airy, Ted Clark of Laurinburg, Chris Clark and Jeff Clark, both of Maxton; sisters, Barbara Blue and Linda Fay Clark, both of Maxton, Nancy Clark of Raeford, Teresa Clark of Delaware, Patricia Freeman, also of Maxton; and 11 grandchildren.
