Jane Jonas, 54, our adored mother, wife, grandmother, teacher, and friend passed away, Sunday March 31, 2013, into the arms of her Lord and Savior. Visitation will be 6 till 8 PM, Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Funeral service will be 2 PM, Friday, April 12, 2013 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow the service at Elmwood Memorial Park.
Jane was born May 15, 1958, in Hamlin, TX. She was the youngest of seven children born to Natalia Trevino and Domingo Trevino. She graduated from Cooper High School, received her Bachelor's degree in Education from ACU and a Master's degree of Psychology from Hardin-Simmons University. She spent many years as a teacher for AISD, teaching at Bassetti, Ortiz, and College Heights Elementary schools. She was a dedicated member of 5th and Grape Church of Christ. Jane had an outstanding personality, she loved to laugh, was very charismatic and love making crafts, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with and taking care of her family.
Jane is survived by her husband, Elton Jonas; daughters, Vanessa Jonas, Leah Jonas, Carol Jonas; son, Eric Jonas; nine grandchildren; brothers, Ruben Trevino, Roy Trevino, Domingo Trevino; sisters, Beatrice Reed, Tomasa Trevino Moore; Fifteen nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Nellie Moreno; and her parents, Domingo and Natalia Trevino.
