OBITUARY (From Amsterdam Evening Recorder, Amsterdam, NY - June 4, 1912, pg. #5)
Lyman Burton died this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Edward Clapper, at No. 23 Dewitt street. Death was due to hardening of the arteries. Mr. Burton was 74 years of age and was born in Schoharie where for many years he was engaged in farming. About twenty years ago he moved to Amsterdam and has since resided here. He is survived by four children, three daughters, Mrs. Charles Flagler of Delmar, Mrs. Julia Robinson and Mrs. Clapper, of this city and one son, William of Schoharie. The funeral will be held Wednesday evening, at 8 o'clock at No. 23 Dewitt street, the Rev. Dr. J. R. Kyle officiating. The remains will be taken Thursday morning to Schoharie for burial.
FUNERAL OF LYMAN BURTON
The funeral of Lyman Burton, who for a quarter of a century has been a well known resident of the south side, was held at 8 o'clock Thursday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Edward Clapper, No. 23 DeWitt street. The Rev. Dr. Kyle of the First Reformed church officiated. There was a handsome collection of floral remembrances.
