Republican Journal: Mrs. Elizabeth Jackson Martin, wife of Mr. George B. Martin, died at her home in Darlington, Monday, May 5, 1913; aged 51 years and 10 days. Mrs. Martin was born in Mineral Point, April 25, 1862, and lived there until 1883, when she was united in marriage to Mr. George B. Martin of Darlington. To this union two children were born- a son, Lloyd, of this city, and a daughter, Genevieve, who died in infancy.
Mrs. Martin was one of a large family and is survived by four sisters and six brothers, Mrs. Mary Treloar, Linden, Mrs. Jennie Martin, Mineral Point, Mrs. Wallace and Mrs. Nicholas, both of Beloit; Pierce, George, and John, all of Mineral Point, Martin, Montana, Will, Oklahoma, and George, Beloit.
During her thirteen months of illness, her mother, Mrs. Mary Jackson of Beloit, has been her constant attendant. In spite of the painful nature of her disease and its duration. Mrs. Martin's attitude has always been cheerful and she trusted in the One Great Power with absolute confidence; and with her death the community loses one of its most respected members.
