Mrs. Mary Rappel, 80, lifelong resident of Manitowoc County, died Monday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Pollen, of 1009 South 20th St., Manitowoc, with whom she made her home the past 16 years.

Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 9 o'clock at the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. A. Lensmeyer, a nephew, will officiate and burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Clarks Mills.

She was born Mary Riederer in Cato in 1872 and in 1893 was married to John Rappel. They located on a farm and in 1925 moved to Manitowoc. Mr. Rappel died in 1928.

Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. George Vandeyacht of Kaukauna, Mrs. William Weber and Mrs. William Pollen of Manitowoc; two sons, Joseph of Cato and Frank of Manitowoc; brother, Blasius Riederer of Cato; sister, Mrs. Anna Muench of Whitelaw; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday where the Christian Mothers Altar Society, of which she was a member, will recite the rosary at 7 p.m. and the Daughters of Isabella at 8 p.m.
