FRANK RAPPEL

Frank Rappel, 70, owner-operator of Rappel’s Food Market, 940 N. 14th St.,
Manitwoc, died Friday morning at Two Rivers Municipal Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home
and at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Leo
Schmitt will officiate and burial will be in evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Rappel was born Dec. 11, 1898, in the Town of Cato, son of the late John
and Mary Riederer Rappel. He married Juliet Paulus May 11, 1920, at St. Mary
Church, Clarks Mills, and the couple moved to Manitowoc. He was employed at
the John Kadow Market until 1945 when he started his own business.
Mr. Rappel had long been active in the Manitowoc Food Dealers Assn. and had
served as its president in 1947.
He is survived by a brother, Joseph Rappel, of Cato and three sisters, Mrs.
George Vandyacht, of Kaukauna and Mrs. William Pollen and Mrs. William Weber,
of Manitowoc. His wife died Sept. 25, 1957, and a daughter also preceded him
in death.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. at the funeral home, State Street entrance, where
the Rosary will be recited at 8:15 p.m.
