Miss Yount, who was known to her many friends as Belle, was the fourth child of John Insco and Isabella Yount, and was born March 8, 1864, three miles south of Frederick on the Waymire homestead adjoining the Polk Church. The family was very active in the development of this church. Her girlhood was spent in this locality until the family moved to Tipp City, where her father was engaged in business.
After a few years they moved to a farm near West Milton, where they resided until after the death of the father on Feb. 8, 1891. Miss Yount, about a year later, moved with her mother to Troy, where she cared for the latter until her death. Soon afterwards, Miss Yount moved to Dayton, where she spent an active and useful life. Ill health caused her to live a more retired life the last 10 years.
Miss Yount is survived by nieces and nephews: Frank Yount of Troy, Mrs. Grace Westfall of Walton, Ind., Mrs. Ethel Shaffer of Tipp City, Mrs. Allen Davis and Mrs. Maggie Gnodle of Troy, Edward Yount of Piqua, Ford Yount of Dayton, Howard and Harvey Yount of Columbus, and Ralph Yount of Los Angeles, Cal.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Roy H. Miller Funeral Home in West Milton. Rev. Perry Huffnacher officiated. Besides his scripture message, he read the hymn, "Abide With Me" and the poem, "Crossing the Bar."
Six nephews, Frank Yount and his son, Frank, Jr., of Troy, Carl Shaffer, Noah Yount, John Edward Shaffer all of Tipp City, and Richard Long of West Milton, were pallbearers. Burial was in Polk Grove cemetery.
