Roy was the biological son of James Leroy Cook And Eva May White. He was born Leroy Cook. He was born on the White's farm in Maple Grove,Barron Co. Wisc. At the age of 3 his mother married William Frank Mitts and went from then on using the Mitts last name. He married Dorothy Guisinger twice.Once in 1929 and also in 1964. He was also married to Flossa Van Slyke in 1940. He was the father of 4 children.James Robert Mitts,William Mitts,Patricia Mitts, and Pamela Mitts. Roy died at home and his death was confirmed at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Red Bluff, California. He was cremated at the Chico Crematory in Chico, California and his ashes was scattered in the mountains outside of Portola in Plumas County,California
