Janet was born on March 14, 1950 in Brooklyn, New York to Peter and Tani Lutjens. Bryan was born on December 20, 1985 in Levittown, New York to Eugene and Janet Maraventano.

Her husband, Eugene Maraventano, 64, was sentenced to the second-degree murder of his wife and son, serving 25 years in prison.
