Elaine Mae Kruchowski, 85, of Chisholm, died Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at her daughter's residence. She was born June 7, 1927, in Hibbing to Thomas E. and Stacia A. (Connor) Allen and grew up in North Hibbing.

She was a graduate of Hibbing High School class of 1945 and had been a Chisholm resident since 1949.

Elaine was united in marriage on Oct. 1, 1949, in Hibbing to John Kruchowski. She worked as a seamstress at the former Glenn Eagle Shirt Factory in Chisholm for eight years. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and served with the Hibbing High School Women's Drum Corps. She was an avid bingo player.

Elaine is survived by her husband, John; children: James (Lesa) Kruchowski, and Sandy (Ervin) Hook; grandchildren: Lindsay Simonson, Crystal Walfoort, Courtney Kruchowski and Dane Kruchowski; two great-grandsons,; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: John, Robert, Tom and Edward "Blackie" Allen; and sisters: Marie Passeri, Helen Johnson and Sarah Augustson.

Interment was in Chisholm Cemetery.
