Tolland Death Card:
Enlarged Heart
at Age 68
Farmer
Jedediah (Dyer) Harger (1839-1907) worked for F. Seymour Hale many years and also for Ernest Clark.
TOLLAND HOMESTEAD 60:
HARGER PLACE: About 3 to 4 miles north on East Otis Road was an old cellar hole on high ground near the west side of the road. David Harger, a shoemaker lived here many years and raised a family of seven children.
HARGER FAMILY PLOT has two distinct unmarked sunken graves believed to be parents David & Jerusha Harger. In the middle is a stone naming two children: William & Marion. At right are three additional children: Mary, Jedediah & Samuel, with only field stones marking their graves.
TWINING CEMETERY LIST: 3 other Harger Children died in Tolland, they were Jedediah, Samuel & Mary. A few years back there were several sunken graves in this plot with no stones, and it is such an old cemetery I doubt if anyone can determine any of them.
