Alvah E. Burton, 77, Sayles Corners, Town of Palermo, was pronounced dead on arrival at Lee Memorial Hospital Sunday, Nov. 13. Born in Volney, he was a life resident of the area. Mr. Burton was a dairy farmer. He was a member of the Palermo United Methodist Church and the Palermo Grange. Surviving are his wife, Agens; two sons, Quentin and Bruce, both of Vermillion; two daughters, Mrs. Dawn Ryder of Palermo and Mrs. Marjorie Barney of Mexico; two brothers, Elmer of Port Byron and Glenn of Volney; a sister, Mrs. Cecil Mattonen of Palermo; 19 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services were Wednesday at the family home. Burial was in Vermillion Cemetery.
