Shirley (Beck) Scott, 85, passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2013, at her home in San Luis Obispo, Calif.
She was born in April 1927, in Denver, Colo., and was the daughter of Erwin R. Beck and Esther (Epple) Beck.
Shirley spent her childhood and teen years in Denver attending South High School and Denver University. Shirley had fond memories of traveling with her girl friends on the up town street car to the movie theatre and soda shop. She also spoke often of trips to the Epple Homestead in eastern Colorado to visit cousins and weekend trips to her aunt Clara Beck's cabin (built by her father Erwin) in the mountains west of Denver.
In 1947, Shirley, her sister, Dorris and her parents moved to San Diego, Calif., where her father built a house for them.
Shirley met her future husband, Warren Woodrow Scott, at the College Park Presbyterian Church, which she attended with her mother. The two were married on Sunday, April 27, 1951.
Mrs. Scott is survived by her daughters, Carlie Lynne (Scott) Svinth, of Paso Robles, CA., and Sally Lee (Scott) DiMaggio, of Cambria, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Erwin R. Beck and Esther (Epple) Beck, husband, Warren Woodrow Scott, sister, Dorris Beck.
