Obituary

Homegoing service for Mr. John Henderson of Tampa who passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2013, will be held on Saturday, April 20th, 11:00 a.m., Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Minister Ebou Howard, officiating. Interment will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida. John Henderson was born July 7, 1933 in Tampa, Florida to the late John and Nina Henderson. John attended the schools of Hillsborough County and graduated from Middleton Senior High, class of 1956. He joined the United States Air Force serving his country from 1956 and honorably discharged in 1960. He retired after working for 50 years for Jack Lawrence and W.G. Mills. John was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Mary Henderson, Ethel Pressley, Nina Mae Christian and Johnnie Mae Ingram and brother, Albert Henderson. He leaves to cherish memories with his loving and devoted wife of 48 years, Bobby G. Henderson; children, Fred Sealy (Alma), Sandra Chapman (Charles), Sebastian A. Sealy, Donna Jackson, Gloria Henderson (Jephtany), Tanya Y. Henderson and James Prather (Cheryl); grandchildren, Shaquilya Grayson (Zachary), Ebony Henderson, Brandon Chapman, Darrell Webster, Shyrah Davis, LaToya Hayes, Jasmine and Tiffany Prather, Darrius Henderson, Sterlin Jackson, Abeeku Sealey, Alicia and Nyomi Moore, James Prather, Sheril Cotton and Favian Jesus; 17 great grandchildren; sisters, Bessie Lawrence and Edna Wade (Rastus); sister-in-law, Catherine Moore; brothers-in-law, James Buchannon (Sheryl) and Lewis Dean (Leslie); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, April 19th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. The family and friend are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service.
