Emerson Bushong
Bushong Emerson, 82, of Cromwell, died Feb. 23, 2006 at Millers' Merry Manor in Syracuse. He was a retired dairy farmer who graduated in 1941 from Syracuse High School and served in the U.S. Navy during WW II as a radarman, radioman and gunner. He was a member of Indian Village United Methodist Church, West Noble American Legion Post and Wolf Lake VFW. He was born Oct. 16, 1923 in Syracuse to Gerald and Meta (Seehawer) Bushong. He married Marjorie R. Hontz on April 9, 1944 at the home of the bride's parents. Surviving are his wife; 2 sons, Daniel of Cromwell and Stephen of Churubusco; 2 daughters, Sasha Hively of Kimmell and Sharon Gerig of Angola; a brother, Merton of Lucas, Texas; 8 grandchildren and their spouses, Ingrid and Brad Kohlagen, Lukus Hively, Les and Amy Hively, Trent and Mary Gerig, Tiffany Gerig, Stefanie Bushong, Scott and Rachel Bushong and Stacie Bushong; and 2 great-grandchildren, Kaela Gerig and Cole Hively. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph. Services Sunday at Ulrey-Renner Funeral Home. Burial, Sparta Cemetery. 2-24-2006
