Edgar Ellsworth Isaman was born August 12, 1866 in Geneseo, Illinois (Henry County), son of Andrew J. Isaman (1844-1909) and Mary Ellen Young (1848-1925).

Obituary
Edgar Ellsworth Isaman was born at Geneseo, Illinois, August 12, 1866 and departed this life from his home at Southard, Oklahoma, January 10, 1930. His age at the time of his death was 63 years, 4 months, and 29 days. From Illinois, he moved with his parents to Kansas.

On April 9th, 1890, he was united in marriage with Minnie Foster. From Kansas, with their family, they moved in 1900 to Oklahoma, and since 1902 have made their home in and near Southard. For about 19 years, he was a faithful employee of the United States Gypsum Company and for the past 18 months has been on the retired list. For the past four months, he has been confined to his home. To Mr. and Mrs. Isaman were born three boys and three girls, Retta, Ella, Joseph, Clinton, Edward, and Rachel. All are living and present today, save Ella, who preceded her father to the great beyond. Mr. Isaman was at the time of his death a member of the Modern Woodmen.

He is survived by the widow and five children, Mrs. Retta Boone of Denver, Colorado; Joseh, Clinton, and Rachel of Southard; and Edgar Jr of Denver, Colorado. Miss Rachel lived at home with her parents at the time of her father's death. There are 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild, who will deeply miss their grandpa. Mr. Isaman was a member of a family of five children. There are alive today two brothers and two sisters, Mrs. Nettie Foster of Southard; W. H. Isaman of Vleits, Kansas; George Isaman of Hydro, Oklahoma; and Mrs Sadie Strandy of Twin Falls, Idaho.
