Clarence E. Allman, 72, of North Vernon R4 died at 11:40 a.m. Tuesday at Jackson County Schneck Memorial Hospital in Seymour after a lengthy illness. A lifelong resident of the area and member of Hayden Methodist Church, he was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a retired master carpenter. Born July 20, 1918, in Seymour, he was the son of Bruce and Mary Baurle Allman. He married Emma M. Perryon Sept. 22, 1940, in North Vernon. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. James (Betty) Maple, Baytown, Texas; and Mrs. services Friday Robert (Sharon) Koester, Seymour, a son, Jim Allman, North Vernon; two sisters, Avis Schafer and Ann Steltenpohl, both of Seymour; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Olson, in 1975; two brothers and two sisters. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Voss and Sons Funeral Chapel, Seymour. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Seymour. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home.
