Born on March 3, 1932, in Rockville, Roy was the son of the late Ragnar and Elizabeth (Humphries) Abrahamson. Mr. Abrahamson was a veteran of the United States Army. Roy retired from Northeast Utilities in 1988.
A loving husband, father, brother, brother-in-law, and grandfather, Roy is survived by a son, Carl E. Abrahamson of Peru, Mass.; a daughter, Terry Cameron of Enfield; his sister, Jean Ludwig and her husband, Raymond, of Tolland; his sister-in-law, Leona McIntyre and her husband, George, of Longmeadow, Mass.; two grandchildren, Becky Cameron and Patrick Cameron. Roy was predeceased by two brothers, and four sisters.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2005, at 11 a.m. at Somers Funeral Home, 354 Main Street, Somers. Burial will be in Saint Bernard Cemetery in Enfield.
Roy's family will receive relatives and friends from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the funeral service.
The family requests memorial donations be made in memory of Roy to the Leukemia Society of America-Northern Connecticut Chapter 40, 300 Research Parkway, Suite 310, Meriden, CT 06450.
