Eivind Tviet was born in Norway in 1882 to his parents, Torbjorn Tarkjelson Tveit and Torbjor Tollefsdr Kvinen Haggland. The family immigrated to America when he was quite young and settled in Minnesota. His parents apparently separated or divorced as his mother married John Norbo, son of Even Norbo and Ingaborg Olsdr of Monroe County, Wisconsin about 1885, although Torbjorn appeared to be living. By the time of the 1900 census, Eivind was using the name Even Norbo which was the name of John Norbo's father.
When Even was about 33, he married Hilda S. Bondy Dealma, who had a daughter, Geraldia. Although he and Hilda had no children, Geraldia had a large family with many descendents, many of whom must have been loved by Even as his obituary tells us that he had 9 step-grandchildren and 21 great step-grandchildren.
