"Mrs. Robert Campaign, who has been in failing health for several years, died at her home on South Hill on Monday morning last at 3 o'clock, aged 77 years. Se leaves a husband, to whom she was married 58 years ago. She is the first to die in a family of eight brothers and sisters, the oldest being 81 and the youngest 69 years old. The brothers are Martin, George and Isaac Atkins of Worcester, John Atkins of Northville; and the sisters Mrs. J. R. Griggs of Lawrence, Kansas; Mrs. Augusta Maxwell of Logansport, Indiana; and Mrs. L. Layman of Worcester. Deceased united with the Christian church when young, and was known as a faithful Christian. Funeral services were held at the house at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning and burial was in Maple Grove cemetery." [Worcester Times (Worcester, NY), September 9, 1909, p. 5]
