Eugene Taylor Parris, 63, of 908 Moreau Dr., died Wednesday afternoon in an auto accident south of Jefferson City on U.S. 54.
Funeral rites are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Church where he was a member. The Rev. Richard Cronin will officiate at the service with burial in Resurrection Cemetery. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today at Dulle Funeral Home.
Mr. Parris was born Oct. 3, 1913, in Dyersburg, Tenn., son of W.H. and Luna McCullough Parris. His mother survives at Holts Summit. On July 7, 1938, he was married in Jefferson City to Marie Adrian, who survives at the home.
Other survivors include: Six sons, Adrian Parris, Kansas City, Kan., Thomas Parris, 1303 Isom Dr., Jerome Parris, Route 1, Robert Parris, Route 2, and James Parris and John Parris, both of the home. Three daughters, Mrs. Shirley Gerling, Kansas City, Mrs. Karen Gerling, Route 2, and Mrs. Deborah Crede, Loose Creek; two brothers, David Parris, Decater, Ill. and Bill Parris, state of Florida; three sisters, Mrs. Geneva Thompson, Holts Summit, Mrs. Mary Schepker, Jefferson City, and Mrs. Lucille Ellis, Fulton; and 20 grandchildren.
Mr. Parris had worked for the Adrian Materials construction firm until his retirement two years ago. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local No. 513.
