Lt Col Wright Williams was in the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812. He survived the wars, but after the War of 1812, on his travels to return to his plantation in Tennessee, with his slave Bob, he died while visiting his brother (Daniel Williams, Jr.), of a disease contracted in the war. Bob buried Wright in the pine woods of Pike County, Mississippi on the plantation of H. S. Brunfield. 93 years later, some historians became aware of the unknown soldier's grave in their area. After much searching and inquiring, they found the grave and contacted the War Department of the USA. The War Department sent funds for the removal and reburial of his remains, which was done. He was transported and interred in the National Cemetery in Chalmette, Louisianna.
