Charlotte was the daughter of Philip Nitterhouse and Elizabeth Frey Nitterhouse. She was married to George W. White in July 1851. Charlotte is buried alongside her husband and several children: Kate (1855-1859), George (1860-1861), Mabel 1875-1889), Ada( 1852-1907) and Helen(1870-1948; wife of John Denton) and Ada's husband, Albert Usherwood (1850-1921).
