Daniel and his wife Sarah were both described as "prominent citizens," Daniel being noted as a "pioneer" in the turpentine industry in NC. He was also a ruling elder and a Clerk of Sessions at the Galatia Presbyterian Church. He is also listed in the Historical Sketch of Galatia Presbyterian Church by R.A. McLeod, 1925. County records indicate he was buried at Talatia Cemetery, near Rockfish Station, Hoke County, NC. Sarah's obituary indicates they are both buried at the "old home place 10 miles west of Fayetteville." As earlier mentioned, Talatia and Galatia may be the same place, as Hoke and Cumberland counties are within one mile of each other where the Galatia Church is located.*

*This may also be relevant to Neill Ray Blue's place of burial. The Galatia Cemetery records do not list N.R. Blue or D.A. Blue.

When they pass beyond our call
Softly as loosened leaves of roses
One by one our loved ones fall."
