NAMPA—A career colored with high adventure of the early-day Silver City gold rush, Indian attacks on settlers and establishment of settlements, closed Tuesday night with the death of Mrs. Nora Linihan at her home near Oreana, in Owyhee County.
Mrs. Linihan was born in Cork County, Ireland. She came to America when she was 21 and settled at Baker City, Ore., in 1875. A short time later she came to Silver City when gold discoveries brought hundreds of miners and adventurers there.
Her husband was a prominent stockman of the Owyhee county, Linihan carried on the stock raising industry with her son in the Reynolds Creek district.
Eight years ago she settled near Oreana, where she was living at the time of her death.
Until a few days ago, she was active and working about her home.
Mrs. Linihan is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Grover Knight of Caldwell, Mrs. Arthur Lau of Soda Springs, and Mrs. J. N. McBride of Salt Lake; one son. James Linihan, of Oreana; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
The body is at Robinson's Chapel, where the rosary will be recited Thursday at 8 p. m. High mass will be Friday at 10 a. m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church. Burial will be In Mount Calvary Cemetery.
