"Mrs. Sarah Babbitt, wife of Charles Babbitt, passed from her earthly home in Flycreek, April 20th, 1911; aged eighty-one years. For fifty-seven years this worthy couple had shared the joys and sorrows of wedded life. A Christian character of the purest type, a noble Godly woman, together with her husband they were loved and esteemed by all who knew them. In her death Mr. Babbitt sustains an affliction that can not be made good in this life. The church of which she had been a life long member sustains a loss; and the friends mourn her departure from earthly companionship, but look forward with hope of a reunion in the 'home beyond the tide.'" ["The Otsego Farmer & Republican" (Cooperstown, NY), Apr. 28, 1911, p. 7]
