Hornick, Iowa -- Mrs. William H. Hindman Sr., 86, Hornick died Tuesday in a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the United Methodist Church at Hornick. The Rev. Dale Church will officiate. Burial will be in Willow Township Cemetery at Holly Springs under the direction of the Wood Funeral Home of Sloan.

Mrs. Hindman, the former Selma Steel, was born August 2, 1894, at Valley, Nebraska.

She was married February 26, 1919 in Omaha. She had been a resident of Woodbury County for 50 years. Prior to that she lived in Nebraska.

Mrs. Hindman was a member of Hornick United Methodist Church where she attended a Bible study group and the Ladies Aid Society. She was a member of the Auxiliary of Hindman-Steel Post 492, American Legion, at Hornick and the Order of Eastern Star at Sloan.

Survivors include the widower; three sons, Robert of LaMesa, California, Kenneth of Sunnymead, California and William H. Jr. of Stockton, California; a daughter, Mrs. Marian Considine of Sioux City; a sister, Mable Steele of Fremont, Nebraska; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established in Mrs. Hindman's name at the Hornick United Methodist Church.
