Born May 28, 1916, in Smyth County, VA, she was the daughter of the late William Andrew and Mittie Dell Shuler Roe.
Retired from the South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Spartanburg.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara DeMott and her husband Phillip of Spartanburg; two sisters, Margaret Hoth of Silver Hill, FL, and Dorothy Russell of Chilhowie, VA; two granddaughters, Melanie DeMott Daniel and her husband Chris of Columbia, SC, and Marcie DeMott Stanford and her husband Marty of Birmingham, AL; and four great-grandchildren, Ashleigh and Philip Daniel, and Brooke and Ty Stanford.
Visitation was 1:00-2:45 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2005, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel.
Funeral services followed at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel conducted by the Rev. Robert C. Morgan. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials could be made to Mobile Meals Service, P. O. Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
