Kenneth "Bud" Miller was born on September 27, 1947 to Frank L. and Mary M. (Devine) Miller in Mandan. Bud was raised and educated in Mandan, graduating from Mandan High School and going on to attend the ND State School of Science. After being honorably discharged from the United States Army where he served a tour in Vietnam, Bud married Bernadette "Beno" Hopfauf, making their home in Mandan. Bud was a Boilmaker by trade and a member of the Boilermaker Union Local 647 for 35 years. After retirement, Bud traveled as a consultant for Mid-West Gen. Through his career and retirement, he made many lifelong friendships. He was also a proud member of the American Legion, the Eagle's Club and the Moose Club.

Bud enjoyed life. He was a man that did it his way, but those of us that know him well, knew a very caring, soft-hearted and fun-loving man. Bud loved his wife of 43 years. He also loved and was very proud of his children and grandchildren.

He enjoyed playing cards with his buddies, making people laugh, and fishing with family and friends on the river and in Canada. Best of all he enjoyed leisurely rides on his motorcycle.

Kenneth will be deeply missed by his wife, Beno; daughter, Tina Miller, both of Mandan; son, Kory (Kaye) Miller, Iowa; grandchildren, Konnor and Kora; sister, Jeannette (Thomas) Frohlich, Mandan; brother, James, Bismarck; sister-in-law, Judy Miller, Mandan; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; brother Duane and sister-in-law, Marie.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorials be sent to Sanford Health Foundation, 715 E. Broadway, Bismarck, ND for a Sanford College of Nursing Scholarship in Loving Memory of Kenneth "Bud" Miller. The scholarship will make a difference in the life of a nursing student.
