James “Jim” A. Miller, 79, Bismarck, passed away at his home, Oct. 21, 2013, surrounded by his sons, Brian, Gilbert, Ariz., and Gervase, Bismarck. Cremation has taken place and a Mass in his honor will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Shane Campbell as celebrant.

Jim was employed at I.C.I. in Bismarck for 30 plus years where he was admired by the many people he worked with. He married the love of his life, Marie Kuntz, on March 28, 1959. They had 49 wonderful, fun-filled years together.

Jim shared his home with his favorite old tomcat, “Stitch” and enjoyed feeding the various birds and squirrels. He also enjoyed games of pinochle with family and friends.

Jim is survived by his sister, Jeannette (Tom) Frohlich; his sisters-in-law, Judy Miller and Beno Miller; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins on both sides of the family. Family gatherings were always enjoyable and eventful.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Marie; two brothers, Duane and Kenneth (Bud); and his parents, Frank L. and Mary Miller.
