Marie was born Dec. 2, 1934, to Christ and Frances (Dietz) Kuntz, Linton. Marie attended school in Linton.

She began her career with Northwestern Bell Telephone Company as a long distance telephone operator in 1952, retiring from AT-T in December 1988.

Marie married James A. Miller on March 28, 1959. Their son, Brian, was born in 1959, followed by another son Gervase in 1960. She had a profound love of life and her family. The love and devotion she and Jim shared was always evident. Nothing in Marie's lifetime was more important to her than the love she shared with Jim and her sons. Her family was first and foremost and her happiest hours were always times spent with them.

She also cared deeply for animals, especially her cats. She enjoyed having her pets around her and always made sure they were nurtured and cared for.

Marie enjoyed a nice evening out for dinner and playing cards with family and friends. She was an avid reader and had a wide interest in many different subjects.

She is survived by her husband, Jim, Bismarck; her sons, Brian, Phoenix, and Gervase, Bismarck; one sister, Charmaine (Bud) Knight, New Berlin, Wis.; two brothers, Lee Kuntz, Pocatello, Idaho, and James (Darla) Kuntz, Mesa, Ariz.; three sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law, Jeannette (Tom) Frohlich, Judy Miller, and Bud (Beno) Miller, all of Mandan; many cherished nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Diane Wentz.
