Last Two Bodies Recovered from Pine Lake
Victims of Triple Drowning Found
---The remaining two bodies of the triple drowning tragedy which took place Sunday afternoon at Pine lake, in Eaton Co., were recovered today by officers who have been dragging the lake since the accident.
---The victims were Frank Villerreal, 16, Pedro Almaraz, 21, and Juan Almaraz, 17, all of R 3, Marshall, where they were employed on the farm of Rollo Shinaver.
---The first of the bodies to be recovered was that of Villerreal, which was recovered a short time after the drowning, which took place about 2:15 o'clock in the afternoon.
---The second body to be recovered was that of Pedro Almaraz, which had some to the surface, and was found floating when officers started the dragging operation this morning.
------Recover Third
---Dragging operations were resumed following the removal of the body this morning, and the third body was found floating about 12:45 o'clock this afternoon.
---The three youths lost their lives when a canoe in which they were paddling about the lake suddenly capsized in about 20 feet of water. Being unable to swim, and fully clothed, they sank almost immediately.
---Sheriff's officers from Eaton county, assisted by sheriff's officers from this county, and volunteers, immediately started dragging operations, which have continued since the accident.
------Observation Poor
---The weedy condition of the lake made dragging operations exceptionally difficult, and a diver who was brought here on Monday afternoon to aid in the search, was unable to work because of the weeds and silt which clouded the water when he attempted walking on the lake bed.
------Pedro Almaraz
---Pedro Almaraz was born Apr. 29, 1927, in Spring Branch, Texas, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Eusebio Almaraz. The deceased is survived by his widow, Maria, and three daughters, Afilia, Alivia and Linda, of Route 3; his parents, five sisters, Julia Gomez, Altograsia Almaraz, Odulia Almaraz, Elodia Almaraz, and Romona Almaraz, all of Willard, O., and four brothers, Alfreda, Arnulfo, Bernaue and Bedoffa, of Willard, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.
------Juan Almaraz
---Juan Almaraz was born on Dec. 27, 1930, in Marion, Texas, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Almaraz. He is survived by his mother, Guadalupe Curz[sic]; step-father, Liverado Cruz; three brothers, Calorino, Foesedes and Eriquiel; two sisters, Casaurion and Orulia; one half-sister, Elida Cruz, all of Route 3, Marshall.
---All were members of the St. Mary's Catholic church, where triple funeral services will be held Thursday morning, at 9:00 o'clock, with Fr. Raoul Zambrano of Lansing in charge of the mass. Rosary will be held this evening for the three victims, at the Kelser funeral home, here. Fr. Zambrano will also hold the Rosary.
---Burial will be given in St. Mary's cemetery, Marengo township.
---Pallbearers for the funeral are: Alberto Gamez, Luthedio Gamez, Johnny Naceanceno, Vincente Tovar, Santos Gomez, and Eustoquio L. Rodriguez.
