Pioneer of '48 Called

Mrs. Agnes F. Park Closes Long and Honored Career

Special Correspondence.
Fairfield, Utah Co., Utah, Jan. 4-Agnes Findley Park passed to the great beyond Jan. 1, 1908, and was buried at Fairfield yesterday. The deceased was born Sept. 10, 1825, in Lenarch, Brock county, Canada. Joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1846 and came to Utah in 1848, having driven a horse team across the plains. Soon after arriving in Salt Lake City she married James P. Park, a member of the Mormon battalion who preceded her 18 years and one day. After their marriage they settled at Big Cottonwood. Salt Lake county, where they resided until 1869, when they removed to Fairfield, Utah county, where they resided until claimed by the reaper. Deceased was ever true to the faith she espoused in her youth and has done considerable temple work for her kindred. She is survived by four children, 32 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren to cherish her memory.
