Jameika, 4, was sleeping at her maternal grandmother's house in Eastdale, Tennessee when she was abducted in the early hours of the morning on August 14, 1994. Someone removed a windowpane from a door in the house and took Jameika from the bed she shared with her cousin, without waking the other child.
On October 21, 1999, Jameika's skeletal remains were found in a remoted wooded part of Tennessee, near a river. They were not officially identified as hers until the following April. She had been strangled with a ligature. As of April 2004, her murder has not been solved.
