She was a member of the Church of Christ, worshipping with the Bonner congregation. She was preceded in death by an infant son on July 15, 1952; parents, Orman Lytle and Elizabeth Almetia Warren Dunn; siblings, Thelma Mae Dunn (John Gilbert) Oftelie, James Campbell "Jack" (Jetta Olive Sleeper) Dunn, Martha Elizabeth Dunn (Arnold Dalgas) Hansen, Orman Lytle "Sonny" Jr. (Josephine Crowder) Dunn, infant Kate Dunn, Mary Evelyn Dunn (Thomas Edward "Buddy") Eaton, Hugh David (Gloria Bowman) Dunn, Walter Howard "Bub" Dunn, William Newton "Bill" Dunn; and Frankie Carolyn Dunn (Carl Nathan) Walker; brothers-in-law, James Roy Eaton, Sr. and William Reed Carman, Sr. and sister-in-law, Georgianna Cunningham Bryan. She is survived by siblings, Eloise Dunn Eaton, Harry Thomas Dunn and his wife Betty Brown Hayes Dunn, Barbara Lee Dunn Carman, Marjorie Sue Dunn Carter and Edith Ann "Goodie" Dunn Webb and her husband Robert Smoot "Bobby" Webb; and sisters-in-law, Carolyn Stanley Dunn and Mary Jo Cunningham Swan. She is also survived by two daughters and their families. Daughter, Rachel Gribble and her husband Darrell; their children, James Darrell Gribble, Jr. and wife Jennifer Dawn and children, Mason Kell and Kate Elyse Gribble; Rachel Elizabeth Gribble Davis and husband Jason Dale and children, Haley Elizabeth, Jacob Dale and Joshua Darrell Davis; Laura Ann Gribble Vaughn and husband Richard Marlon and children, Annsley Kare and Seth Willis Vaughn. Daughter, Susan Almetia Pryor and husband Bruce Cooper; children, Susan Almetia Davis Jones and husband Jimmy Newton and children, Jesse Hayden, Levi Henton and Leah Hensley Jones; George Paul Davis and children, Benjamin Shane and Samantha Rayne Davis; Abram Cooper Pryor; Martha Carol Pryor Johnston and husband Jared Aaron and daughter Jenna Ann Johnston. She graduated from Morrison High School in 1946 and met each year with her remaining classmates for a class get-together. She loved genealogy and was a self-proclaimed family historian, spending most of her adult life in family research for herself and others. Together with two co-workers she researched and recorded the Warren County Cemeteries and published a four volume set of that work. A charter member and co-founder of the Warren County Genealogical Association she served in different capacities in that organization. She was a retired employee of Carrier. Family and friends met at Fountain Grove Cemetery in Coffee County, TN on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. for a graveside service officiated by her grandson-in-law, Jared Johnston. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and grandsons-in-law, Darrell, Paul, Abram, Jason, Richie and Jimmy. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Church of Christ Disaster Relief Fund (410 Allied Dr., Nashville, TN 37211) or the charity of your choice.
