McMinnville resident and Imperial County, Calif., native Walter Howard (Bub) Dunn, 72, died May 3 at Veteran's Hospital in Nashville after an extended illness.

A retired chief petty officer with the U.S. Navy, he served his country in the Korean and Vietnam wars.

The son of Orman Lytle and Elizabeth Warren Dunn, he is survived by son, Jon Walter Dunn of New Jersey; daughters, Janice Moorhead and Kathy Moorhead, both of Washington, Barbara Dunn of France, Anita Dunn of Arkansas, Sheila Dunn of New Jersey, and Marla Miranda of Florida; grandchildren, Sean Smith, Amanda Crabtree, Russ Smith, Blake Woodlee, Jessica Seitz and Jon Miranda; brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Betty Dunn of McMinnville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Elizabeth and Arnold Hansen of Sacramento, Calif., Barbara Carman of Kingston, Goody and Bobby Webb of Morrison, Mary Eaton, Sue Carter, Almetia Cunningham, Eloise and James Eaton, Frankie and Carl Walker, all of McMinnville; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Dunn of McMinnville, Jo Dunn of Harriman, and Gloria Dunn of The Dalles, Ore.; and special friend, Bernice Brown of McMinnville.

Memorial services will be held at noon Monday at High's Chapel with burial following at Evergreen Cemetery in Murfreesboro with military graveside rites administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. Visitation will be held from 1 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. until time of service Monday at High's.

High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
