Baptized August 16, 1736 at Christ Church in Boston. He marched with the Minutemen into Lexington during the Revolutionary war, April 19, 1775 -- both he and his son served in the Revolutionary war. He was a farmer.

He married Penelope Dwelly on September 18, 1758.

Known children were John, Jr., Samuel and Mary. Mary was still alive in 1857, but dates of birth, except for John, Jr. are unknown.

His parents were Joseph Aspinwall and Elizabeth Nelson Aspinwall.
