Funeral services for Rufus Dow Brock, 77, were held Friday, September 11, 1981 at 2:00 p.m., at the German-Aumon Funeral Home Chapel in Steele. Rev. Bill Luttrell officiated, and Mrs. Betty Aumon was the organist.

Mr. Brock was born June 25, 1904 in Tennessee and died September 8, 1981 at the Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital in Hayti.

He leaves his wife, Frances Brock, of the home; four daughters, Magelene Owens of Clio, Michigan; Laverne Altman of East St. Louis, Illinois, Elaine Pennington of St. Louis, Missouri and Margaret Tipps of Dyersburg, Tennessee; three sons, A.J. Brock of Montrose, Michigan; Larry Brock of Crane, Missouri; and Bobby Brock of Oxnard, California; two sisters, Bessie Lynch, of Flint Michigan, and Myrtle Roberts of Hollow Rock, Tennessee; one brother, William Brock, of Hayti; three step-daughters, Wilma Stubbs of Blytheville; Helen Wilson of Tennessee; and Ruth Ella Wilson of California; 35 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Randy DeBerry, Thomas DeBerry, Monty Owens, Bobby DeBerry, A.J. Brock, Jr., and Gary Owens.

Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery near Steele with the German-Aumon Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
