A graduate of West High School class of 1967. He was a 2007 Hall of Fame inductee for West High School (Columbus, Ohio). Graduate of The Ohio State University with a B.A. in Communications and a M.A. in Journalism. 10 year veteran serving in the 338th U.S. Army Reserve Band.
Felix was a member of the Hilltop Historical Society, founding officer and treasurer of the Columbus Association of Black Journalists, the local chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists. The local group honored his work at their 20th anniversary celebration in 2008.
He was a life long resident of the Hilltop neighborhood of Columbus and was survived by his brother, the Rev. Melvin Hoover of Charleston, W.Va. Proceeded in death by parents Alfred B. and Felicia L. Hoover.
